The Sagrada Familia: Building for a Client Who Isn’t in a Hurry
Featured Sunday ServiceRafos Hall 310 Danforth Ave, Toronto, Ontario, CanadaSpeaker: Peter Marmorek Weaver: Moira Music: Susanne and friends The largest church in the world, the Sagrada Familia, surprised Peter with its lessons for Neighbourhood. Its architect Gaudi said "Nothing is invented, for it's written in nature first”, and the building embodies the interdependent web, from the turtle and tortoise on which the entrance rests, to trees, snails, wheat, and grapes. The 150 year project is expected to be completed in 10 years; Gaudi also said, “My client (God) is not in a hurry.” Explore how we do- or might- think far ahead. Photo credit: Peter Marmorek
