Welcome Sally!
Neighbourhood’s new minister, Rev. Sally Fritche, who is serving the congregation remotely for her first several months, will be visiting Toronto in the first week of November. Come meet her at the Sunday Service November 3, followed by a Community Potluck!
September 29: Celebration of the Animals
This special all-species/all-ages service is celebrated to commemorate St. Francis of Assisi Feast Day (Oct. 4). The love we human animals share with our non-human animal companions is a precious love like no other. Wake up your beloved 3/4-leggeds, crawlers, swimmers and fliers and bring them to share the love and receive a blessing on this exceptional Sunday! If you can’t bring your actual animal with you, feel free to bring something representing any animal you love such as a stuffie or a toy animal.
Speaker: Kathleen Rea
Service Weaver: Debb Bertazzon
October 26: Living with Loss and Longing
Dealing with loss is a “muscle” that we can exercise and when we strengthen this muscle, we have more access to the full range of emotions that help us feel enlivened. During this time of year when the leaves fall and the veil between life and loss is felt to be more permeable, let’s gather and practice being with loss through sound, movement, words, community and ritual. You can move with what emerges for you in the DJ’d dance that follows.
Service Weaver: Kurt Thomsen
Guest speaker: Valerie Moysey
Facilitators: Katya Schmied and Kathleen Rea
Music: Comfort Choir and Susanne Maziarz
DJ: Twyla Kowalenko
