All Levels are Welcome!
This collective exploration of our personal thoughts and feelings about AI runs for 5 Wednesday evenings, in Rafos Hall, starting Oct 7th at 7PM. Instead of adversarial debate, we'll listen across our differences. Sign up in Cappuccino room, or by email to Peter (marmorek@mac.com). Twelve people maximum.
Facilitated by Bruce Lyne Six weekly meetings from 7 to 9 pm on Thursdays in Rafos Hall starting October 15 and ending November 19 Through a combination of short readings, discussions, reflections and role play, we will learn concepts and strategies for approaching conflict in our lives in healthy and healing ways. While conflict is an inevitable part of life, if we understand better how to approach it, we can turn conflict into an opportunity to deepen our relationships and grow emotionally and spiritually. Topics covered will include: Reacting vs. responding Intentions vs impacts The backstory and the bigger picture Empathetic listening Building bridges Engaging the third side Maximum 10 participants Please register by September 30, 2026 to reserve a spot. First come first served basis. I will reach out to you for a brief conversation before the series starts so I get to know you and understand better what you are hoping to gain from the group. That way I can tailor our sessions to meet the needs of who is actually in the group.
Bring your animal companion to NUUC! Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, join us in celebrating the blessing of the animals here at Neighbourhood. Together we will reflect on the interconnected nature of human and nonhuman lives, and offer a blessing to all living things. You are invited to bring your pet(s) or animal companions with you, and we trust you will use your best judgement as to whether such an outing would be either fun or stressful to your animal friend. If you decide your animal friend would not enjoy the service, please feel free to bring a picture, a favourite toy or anything that reminds you of your animal friend(s). Speaker: Rev. Sally Weaver: Gillian Music: Choir for All Ages Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist Congregation meets weekly at 10:30 in Rafos Hall - 310 Danforth Ave. Toronto You are welcome! If you are new to NUUC and thinking about joining, or just wondering how your own unique path might fit into this community, you can register here to participate in our one-day "Pathways to Membership" class led by Rev. Sally Fritsche with our fabulous membership volunteer team. Newcomers and visitors are invited to gather in-person on Saturday October 24th, tour through our space, get to know others new to the community, and learn about what it means to get connected to this congregation and UUism as a whole. We will eat lunch together (vegan chili provided), and our focus will be on building connections and answering as many of your questions as possible. Taking part in our Pathways to Membership does not mean you are committing to officially joining NUUC as a member; it is a way to get to know Neighbourhood more deeply as you figure out your own journey.
