Toronto East End Climate Collective meets in-person at Neighbourhood on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00p.m., and online all other Thursdays. TEECC is a climate advocacy, education and discussion group. We help plan and attend climate actions and work on speaker series. All are welcome – snacks provided! June's theme: Joyful Justice Speaker: Kofi Hope Music: Susanne and Friends Message: Finding Strength from the Spiritual in Dark Times It can be hard to feel hopeful, even joyful in what feels like a difficult time in the quest for social justice. Returning speaker Kofi Hope shares how swapping the technology we use to perceive the world – modern tech such as social media for spiritual technology, including ancient faith traditions -- may help us recover some of that joy and face challenges from a more grounded place.
Exploring the origins of Antisemitism and Islamophobia Presenters: Dr. Meirav Jones, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies, McMaster University, and Shaykh Yusuf Badat, Imam, Islamic Foundation of Toronto Following presentation there will be a discussion on ways we can support one another through these uncertain times, guided by the faith leaders of the DMC and the East Toronto Multifaith Community.

A Work that Reconnects Workshop, Sat. June 15 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Location the Bain Community Centre (Logan & Bain). In this community ritual developed by Joanna Macy and John Seed, we gather to speak on behalf of the non-human world and receive their gifts to continue healing and protecting our planet. The day will also include live music and singing, simple mask making, time in Withrow Park, and "brainfood" on defending the rights of Mother Earth. Everybody welcome!
