February's theme: Beloved Community Message: Power and Patience in the Beloved Community Speaker: Melina Bondy Music: Susanne Maziarz and Tony Rapoport Time for All Ages: Julia Thompson Thich Nhat Hanh and Dr Martin Luther King were not only heroes to many, but they were also friends who shaped each other and by extension, their communities. This service will look at their friendship and open into a reflection for us all on how to the powerful ways we can be changed by friendships, and the patience needed to connect across difference.
April's theme: Transformation Speaker: Melina Bondy Message: Touching the Earth - Bowing down and touching the earth - in reverence, humility and community - is an important part of most sacred traditions, though often forgotten or dismissed by modern cultures. Yet as climate chaos deepens and the violence of colonial-capitalist systems becomes more and more blatant, the importance of earth-touching practices that connect us to the living presence of the planet and an inner sense of wholeness has never been greater. Join us to explore a Buddhist form of bowing, Touching the Earth, that serves both as contemplation on interdependence, earth-honouring and moving meditation.
