February's theme: Beloved Community Message: Power and Patience in the Beloved Community Speaker: Melina Bondy Music: Susanne Maziarz and Tony Rapoport Time for All Ages: Julia Thompson Thich Nhat Hanh and Dr Martin Luther King were not only heroes to many, but they were also friends who shaped each other and by extension, their communities. This service will look at their friendship and open into a reflection for us all on how to the powerful ways we can be changed by friendships, and the patience needed to connect across difference.
This will be a kick-off event at NUUC for Black History Month.

February's Theme: Beloved Community Message: Higher Love - The Call to Beloved Community Speaker: Beverly Horton Music: Spirit Band As articulated by the Unitarian Universalist Association's Article II Commission, the core value of our faith is love. How do we ground our 8th Principle pursuit of radical inclusion in this core value? What is the Beloved Community called to do and be? How do we answer that call? Bio: Beverly Horton has been a Unitarian Universalist for nearly 25 years and a member of the First Unitarian Church of Hamilton for nearly as long. She has been active in leadership at her congregation, most squarely focused on music ministry, and her leadership has extended to the broader Canadian Unitarian Council and Unitarian Universalist Association context. Beverly actively advocates for our individual and collective commitment to dismantling racism and achieving radical inclusion manifest in the Beloved Community.
