This show runs from Jan. 18- March 22, 2026 Curatorial Statement The cultural movement towards individuality is growing. Personal growth and self-awareness are becoming more accepted in our culture. We should applaud this growth. This show is a celebration in diversity. Lee Horton-Carter’s work inspired the idea when she revealed a piece that had a visible minority of ability dancing. This started a dialogue of “what don’t we often see but does exist?”. In some cultures, same sex marriage is illegal punishable by death, in Canada , thankfully, it is commonplace. People in wheelchairs can be chained to inactivity by societies notion of “Can’t”. Yet, the possibilities are as wide as our vision – so some rise above and strive for doing it all. Diversity makes us stronger. We should show off our uniqueness , not, hide it. Labels created about body image, aga, Neurodivergence, ethnicity, sexual orientation, economic strata, even ways with which we navigate the world are often seen as different, possibly even negatively.
