Do you wish to become a member of Neighbourhood? Becoming a member is something we invite individuals to do when they feel connected with our spiritual community and the act of becoming a member further deepens that connection. Contact Kristina Kiil and learn more about what is involved. We ask our members to give their time and money to help grow our congregation. Neighbourhood funds the cost of each member by paying a membership fee to the CUC (Canadian Unitarian Council) annually. What does becoming a member mean for me? We ensure our members have Pastoral Care and allow our members to rent out our space at a reduced cost for personal-use events. Neighbourhood events are always at no cost. And, of course, members can share their voice and vote at our Annual Budget Meeting and Annual General Meeting which is when we elect our board members. Only members can lead committees or participate on our board. |

Reading and blessings from yesterday’s service: (https://www.nuuc.ca/sunday-service/) Service Weaver – Allison Kabayama |
Reading/Quote: “When we fail to nurture ourselves, our joy is depleted and our capacity to serve diminished. Giving from an empty vessel causes stress, anger and resentment, seeds that sow disorder and disease. Attempting to meet the demands of the world without first attending to our own needs is an act of self-betrayal that can cause us to lose respect for our value and worth.” -Susan L. Taylor (1946 – ) Closing Blessing: Now and again, may you find the time and space to seclude yourself in a restorative way. May you listen to the ebb and flow of your being and respond accordingly; being gentle and simply being for your own good and to heal and recharge. Aho. May it be so. |
